New Found Fave: Mary Kay Medium Coverage Foundation
|Mary Kay Medium Coverage Foundation.|
When we hear people mention Mary Kay in any sort of makeup talk we usually associate it with “it’s makeup for older women.” In fact, that is true in my case since I don’t have any knowledge in Mary Kay products what-so-ever, and it just doesn’t sound as “cool” as MAC or Urban Decay, or any other big box cosmetic brands out there. I guess I should say that I’m indifferent, because I don’t have anything good or bad to say about Mary Kay, until now. I recently got my hands on the Mary Kay Medium Coverage Foundation, and this product is absolutely amazing. Stay with me to find out why…
I would have never gone out to purchase this foundation on my own; it’s just one of those things that you don’t really care for and don’t see a need to spend part your life experimenting with. It wasn’t until my very first makeup class at the academy (read here) that introduced me to try my very first Mary Kay product, which is this foundation, and I was impressed! The first class was about base, and how to color match foundation for our clients. When my partner practiced color match on me, she had a few foundation selections and decided that the Mary Kay Medium Coverage Foundation in 302 Beige was my best match. As she continued with the application, not only did she slowly realized that is was the perfect match for my current skin tone, a couple more class assistants also walked by and commented in awe. At that point, the foundation was SOLD in my mind.
|The foundation is packaged in a lightweight plastic tube,
so it’s lightweight and travel friendly. My shade is Beige 302.
Since I was searching for a non-glass bottle foundation to fly across the country with me, I picked up one of these tubes to try right before I left for New York. Trying something new while being away from home may not have been a smart idea for my face, but in this case it was a pleasure in disguise. I’ve been using this foundation for exactly one week now, including my trip in New York, and I have plenty of good things to say about it. The color match is perfect, the packaging is lightweight, non-oily, medium even coverage, natural looking, and long lasting! Best of all, it did not break me out. I don’t remember feeling any bit of oily while hustling on the streets of New York; and product feels light with no cake faces. A little goes a long way, and it’s build-able if more coverage is needed. This foundation will definitely go on my favorites list, and I have a new thought on the Mary Kay line of cosmetics. 🙂
|Love how natural this foundation is, and covers discoloration with
only a thin layer of product. Setting powder has not been applied yet.
