Life Update – 6 Months Recap
……hmmm…where do I even start? I never thought that I would be writing another “hey I’m back!” or “what I’ve been up to” post right after writing one just like that, but that’s because they are 6 months apart! It clearly shows that I have fallen from the face of earth, abandoned my half-built blog, and went on with more interesting things in life rather than burying my face in front of a laptop screen. NO. No no no no no. Before I move on to explaining why I disappeared off of Candidly Claire and share with you my story, I just want to express how truly sorry and guilty I am for leaving my blog hanging like that. Yes, I did kind of do a poor job of managing my time (which totally goes against my own encouraging words from the last post), but I am not ending this! If you care to find out what I’ve been up to, please keep on scrolling…
It may seem like I’ve lost interest in sharing my love for makeup, due to the lack of posts on product reviews, tutorials, etc. But actually, since receiving my Makeup Artistry certificate in June 2014, I have been practicing my skills, gaining more hands-on makeup gig experiences, and just trying to figure out what I want to do with this new title of mine. Thanks to April Love Pro Makeup Academy, I was provided with so many opportunities to wave my makeup wand around at events such as beauty pageants and bridal expos. I had the opportunity to style hair for reigning queens at the Miss North Hollywood pageant, and I was actually offered to be on a film set through networking at one of the bridal expos! Isn’t that awesome?! In fact, I was just on set couple weekends ago busting my makeup and hair skills with a little bit of wardrobe styling. 🙂 I’m not allowed to discuss the project further, but I had such a great learning experience working and networking on set with talents and behind the scene crew members. In the past 6 months, I may have strayed away from blogging and being more active on social media (supposedly what I’m supposed be doing), but I’m still the same me, that girl who has a passion for makeup artistry and who is still pursuing her dreams.
Speaking of which, I have awesome news to share! To kick start the new year, I recently signed up for another makeup class, which is the Pro Mastery Makeup Course at April Love Pro Makeup Academy! Last year, I made the decision to finally seek after my dreams by completing both the Pro Makeup Artistry Program and the Hair Design Program at April Love Pro Makeup Academy. I must mention that it was one of the BEST decisions I’ve made for my artistry career and I feel so blessed to be a part of the April Love family. So this year, I decided to jump outside of my comfort zone of beauty makeup and explore my inner creativity with what the mastery course has to offer. For 9 weeks, I will be learning advanced techniques for high fashion and editorial makeup, along with body painting techniques to add to my bag of tricks. I am soooo excited for this class and can’t wait to share my class experience with you! On a side note, I’m still working on writing a recap about my Pro Makeup Artistry Program experience; but you can check out my Hair Design Program recap on the blog if you’re interested in more information.
I will be honest with you tho… Beside all the makeup shenanigans, life did caught up to me in its various ways. I am human; I am that normal Jane who has responsibilities, a full time job, weekends to plan, family to see, etc. I really don’t know how other people keep up with their “online” lives so well; I’ll be happy if I can even keep my regular life straight. But in the mist of all of that, I’m happy to add that I also met someone special… 😉 I won’t get into the details of my personal life just yet, but only to mention that I just diverted my focus a little and haven’t been able to maintain my blog schedule as frequent as I would like to. But you know what? That someone special is the motivation behind the return of my blog and writing this post. I was reminded of this special space that I hand created myself, and that Ishould continue to share my Candidly Claire thoughts, Candidly Claire experiences, my Candidly Claire life. Well, here’s the first of 2015, and to many more exciting contents created by Yours Truly. Happy New Year everyone, and thanks for riding along with me! Xoxo 😉
